FAQ’s for BFC Pay card:

1. What is the BFC Pay Card? 

For WPS users:

Your BFC Pay Card is a prepaid salary card issued by BFC Payments (in partnership with

Visa) into which your employer will credit your monthly salary and other

payments due to you.  The BFC Pay Card is not a Credit Card.

For General Purpose wallet users:

Your BFC Pay Card is a prepaid salary card issued by BFC Payments (in partnership with

Visa) into which your employer will credit your monthly salary and other

payments due to you.  The BFC Pay Card is not a Credit Card.

2. What is a Card PIN?  

A PIN (Personal Identification Number) is a secret four-digit number used to verify your

identity.  It will be known only to you. You should memorize it and never share it with

anyone.

3. How do I get my PIN?

The set PIN option will be available on the App. 

4. Are there any fees/charges for obtaining and using the BFC Pay card? 

No. There is no fee for using your BFC Pay card for retail or online transactions. However, under certain merchant categories like railways and fuel, a fee may be levied by the merchant on every purchase.

6. If my Card is lost or stolen, who should I report this to? 

In case your Card is lost or stolen, you should report this by contacting the BFC

Customer Service Centre immediately on 1771 1775 and we will block your Card.

9. Can my BFC pay card be used for transactions outside Bahrain?

No, this is a domestic-only card and can be used for payments/withdrawals only within Bahrain.

For international card-related payments, kindly refer to our Multicurrency card.

10. What if my BFC pay card expires/is replaced?

If you are an active BFC Pay card customer and your card expires during this period, you will receive a renewed card to your registered address with BFC payments. Click here to update your registered address. 

If you are not an active customer i.e., your account is either terminated or in Dormant (non-active) status, kindly contact BFC Customer Service Centre on 1771 1775

11. What is the procedure to change my BFC pay card PIN?

Click on Cards in the options available in bottom banner of the App Home screen->Manage (BFC Pay Prepaid Card)->PIN Settings->Change PIN->Enter Existing PIN, New PIN, Card Expiry Date and CVV->Confirm

12. What is a CVV number?

The Card Verification Value (CVV) for Visa, is the final three digits of the number printed on the signature strip on the back of your card. It is usually required for Online payment transactions.

13. How do I know if my card is contactless?

The wireless logo if printed on the front or back sides of your card, the card is considered to have the contactless payment feature.

14. How does the Contactless Debit Card work? 

Contactless Credit Card has a chip and a radio frequency antenna embedded. When the Contactless Credit Card is tapped against the terminal enabled for contactless payments, the card transmits payment details wirelessly, eliminating the need to insert it. Account details are communicated to the reader and then processed through the acceptance network in the usual way. Simply put it is Contactless transacting with just a tap and no PIN to be entered.

15. Where can the Contactless Debit Card be used?

Anywhere that the Contactless payment POS Machine is available, the card can be used to tap and pay. If the POS machine has a contactless symbol displayed on it, then it is enabled for contactless payments.

16. How close does the ‘tap’ have to be to the reader?

Customers need to touch the reader with the card or bring it close to the terminal screen (within 4 cm)

17. What if the customer waves the Contactless Credit card twice at the terminal? Will he/she be charged twice?

No. Even if the card is tapped more than once at the terminal, the customer will only get billed once for the purchase.
